Mighty Mt Maude, Oil on canvas

Mighty Mt Maude

Mighty Mt Maude

I spent a lovely spring afternoon at the local pool with the kids. While they played in the pool, I painted this landscape alla prima with a palette knife. The view from the pool is stunning.

Shortly after I finished, the All Blacks nabbed the rugby world cup. A great day.

To frame the painting, I created a simple American box frame, finished with redwood oil stain to bring out the warm colours in the mountain. Frame is included in the price.
