Still Hokianga Morning, Oil on canvas

Still Hokianga Morning

Still Hokianga Morning

This painting was made from a photo of the Hokianga harbour in the far north of New Zealand, taken outside my parent's holiday home. I gave this to them as an xmas present.

The lower layers are painted thickly with a palette knife, the upper layers painted with thin glazes.

I made the frame from scratch with a wood router and pine timber, then applied oil stain and varnish to finish.
