While most of what we did was pretty casual, we actually managed to record 2 songs at SAE studios, if I recall correctly, the total cost was 2 boxes of beer.
A couple of years later, long after the band had split, I decided to upload the songs to MP3.com for free download. Amazingly enough, the songs were extremely popular, and we even started getting fan mail. Fan Mail, you say, bullshit.
Fan mail
Yes, we got fan mail. However, in my infinite wisdom I stored these messages on my Hotmail account, and as soon as Microsoft bought Hotmail I started using another mail provider. My Hotmail account soon expired, wiping all our gloroius fan mail, destined to be a soft magnetic charge on the disks of Microsoft's servers forever. Unfortunately, we never made it to the cover of any magazines so we can't claim to be real rock stars.You can still welcome to send fan mail to the address on the contact page - we accept regular fan mail, cash donations, and women's panties (unlikely, but it never hurts to ask).
Our stint at #1
Anyway, for a total of 8 weeks, the song "Enigma" was number one at MP3.com - not the same as being number one in the music shop, but a pretty decent achievement in geek terms. The song got downloaded 150,000 times in it's time at mp3.com, it's now available here for a few more downloads.Download
